In
association with Dr Roddy Gow, OBE, Chairman, AsiaScotand
DSF would
like to have your opinions on the future of UK trade relations with
China…
Says Lady
Olga Maitland, A member of the Advisory Board, AsiaScotland
“I list
some points you may care to consider:
- Can the UK afford NOT to
trade with China?
- Is it realistic to break the
production chain, and if so why?
- Is one of the difficulties
being the ‘fear of the unknown.’ An unfamiliar country, far
away…?
- Can we, should we do
business with a society entirely different from the West?
- Is it not facing reality
that China is an economic and technological superpower?
- Are the templates of
economic power shifting away from the U.S.A?
- Does it really have to be a
case of trade with either the U.S.A or China?
- Can we not demonstrate our
independence and trade with both?
- Should the West be the
arbiters of political institutions in other countries?
